PQ-NE Action Group
Our Mission
PQ-NE Action Group is a volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit organization representing residents of northeast Rancho Peñasquitos. Our mission is to protect and enhance community safety, promote responsible planning, and preserve the quality of life in our neighborhood, with a particular focus on wildfire evacuation safety, traffic mitigation, and community education.
Our Principles are Simple
Safety First
Helping residents protect their homes and families by preparing for wildfires, evacuations and other emergencies.
Community Voice
We advocate for residents in northeast Rancho Peñasquitos.
Transparency & Education
We work to keep neighbors informed about safety issues affecting our community.
Volunteer Leadership
PQ-NE Action Group is entirely led by local residents who volunteer and donate their time and effort to advancing its mission of protecting the community.
The January 2025 Center Fire forced northeast PQ and Rancho Bernardo residents and students to evacuate.
Rancho Peñasquitos Northeast
Our community borders on the expansive 2,300 acre Black Mountain Open Space Park, which is designated by San Diego Fire-Rescue as a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Our organization is volunteer-driven, focused on improving safety and quality of life in northeast Rancho Peñasquitos. Residents can help by supporting outreach, sharing information, and participating in efforts that promote wildfire preparedness, traffic safety, and responsible planning.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
PQ-NE participates in and hosts events that bring neighbors together and encourage community engagement. These gatherings help residents stay informed about local issues and build stronger connections within the neighborhood.
QUARTERLY COFFEES
Our quarterly coffee gatherings provide a casual setting for neighbors to connect and discuss local issues. These conversations help residents stay informed and share perspectives on safety, traffic, and community priorities.
IMPACT (Sponsorships & Grants)
Through donations and funds from past advocacy efforts, PQ-NE supports initiatives that benefit neighborhood safety and education. These resources help fund community programs, safety awareness efforts, and local events.
